Fuzzy Me sells the most awesome, unique tutus, "1" onesies, crowns, bibs and so much more! Forgot to mention on the show that a local mom/ business woman is behind these beautiful creations! She's offer 10! Show visitors 15% off with the code: the ten show.
Amy Hetrick, another local mom and business woman, is the creative force behind Cake Walk and the beautiful and beyond delicious Birthday cakes and "smash" cakes featured on the show. The 10! Show staff was excited that we left them for them to sample!
ECHOage is an online, charity-based party planning website. Parents can select an invitation and ECHOage collects RSVPS as well as gift money, half of which will be donated to the charity of the family's choice and the other half of which goes toward one meaningful gift for the birthday boy or girl. Great idea!
There are a wide variety of signature frames available today. Using one of these to have guests sign and maybe leave a comment, is a simple way to commemorate a 1st birthday party. This is a great keepsake!
Personalized books are a great gift, but they are not all created equally! The book Finding Featherbottom follows Felix Featherbottom and his sidekick
Pierre du Pond as they race around the globe
finding the letters for your child’s
name. This is such a great book with beautiful illustrations and sure to be a hit as your child grows and learns to spell his or her name!
Another great 1st birthday gift and keepsake is a set of handprint tins. The Tower of Time is a set of five.
There are so many types of photo books these days that are available in a huge variety of sizes, prices, styles. It's a fun tradition to start creating one for each year and really easy to personalize.
Another awesome personalized party element is a birthday banner. Stephanie Corfee , a local mom and artist creates canvas banners that can be used year after year. A beautiful touch!
Here's Shannon discussing mom and baby tips with "10! Show" host Lori Wilson and guest, David Gregory of "Meet the Press."
It can be challenging for new and "veteran" moms alike to find time to focus on getting and staying healthy. We all know moms are great multi-taskers, and fitness is no exception! Moms can make the most of opportunities to incorporate fitness into their everyday lifestyle and/or find ways to include their children in their workout.
Here are some amazing fitness products and classes to get your body in shape:

PBC Fitness Tips:
Talk to your doctor before starting a new fitness
program. Not everyone can handle the same fitness regime and you should
get the "ok" before involving baby in your workouts.
If nursing, doctors recommend that you don't "diet" in the
traditional sense. You should be taking in extra calories because you
actually burn calories when nursing. Remember, whatever food and
nutrients you get, baby gets.
Set realistic goals for a post-baby body. It took nine
months to
gain the weight, it will take time to lose it. Remember, the main goal
is to get healthy and repair any physical changes, such as diastisis,
that come with the pregnancy and child birth.
When packing for the hospital, there's lots to consider. You want to have your basic needs covered as well as anything else that will make your experience go that much smoother.
PBC tip: Pack two bags; One for all you'll need during labor and delivery (clothes to birth in, music, candles, massge oils, snacks and drinks to stay energized and hydrated) and one with your needs for once your bundle has arrived (comfy clothing that you'll feel camera-ready in, nursing bra (if this applies), baby clothing and blankets, camera, baby book for footprints, etc.)
Here are some great products to consider:
Book: Don't Just Stand There: How to Be Helpful, Clued-In, Supportive, Engaged & Relevant in the Delivery Room. $12.95

I received a fabulous Premium Mattress Protector from Protect-A-Bed about 6 or 8 weeks ago and have had plenty of time to use it and report back! When Protect-A-Bed reached out to me as a baby planner, I'm sure they were thinking of the obvious connection between new parents equiping their nursery and their own breathable, waterproof mattress protectors for cribs. (Think: leaky diapers, bottle dribbles, and other "mishaps."). And they are right! All parents, new and seasoned, want to do what they can to prevent allergies and stain-proof their stuff! I however, had my own visions of a dry full size mattress beneath my newly potty trained three year old!
Protect-A-Bed offers a full line of bedding protection products for every size mattress and pillow. All are waterproof, but breathable, so are comfortable to sleep on (nice and cool!). Some fit like a fitted sheet; while the AllerZip line of protectors has added bed bug (yuck!) protection, and these completely encase the mattress or pillow. All are machine washable and able to be tumble dried. This is key! They must be easy to get on and off and throw in the laundry whether you are dealing with regular crib changes or middle of the night accidents.
It's a great idea to have a spare, so that you're always protected against bacteria, dustmites, and spills each time you change the bedsheets, but an even better idea, was a suggestion from Rose at Protect-A-Bed: Go ahead and layer the two so that when you do have a middle of the night mishap, just remove one layer and it's that much less work in the dark! We've had great success with our Protect-A-Bed so far. Unfortunately we have repeatedly tested it's water-proofing protection (smiles!), but are happy to report a stain-free mattress! Also worth noting is that all of their products have a 10 year guarantee.
One of the great items we featured on the 10! Show this week was this beach tent. Just pop-up, use the stakes, and add a little sand in the side pockets to further secure, and it offers protection from the sun, a little privacy on a crowded beach, and a great shady spot to take a nap! Now to be honest, I have a little trouble packing it back up (picture yourself folding one of those automobile dashboard sun visor things) to leave the beach, but I have an earlier version so they may have addressed this, and nevertheless, it's still worth the effort! Here's what it looks like collapsed: Parent Tip: If your beach, like mine, doesn't have public restrooms nearby (or even if it does- yuck!) and a sudden potty trip means high-tailing if off the beach and racing three blocks to home, pack this amazing little on-the-go potty (an essential for the trunk of any car carrying potty-trainers!), too, and avoid the whole scenario! Close your tent vents for privacy and your little once can take care of business, get a spritz of foaming hand sanitizer and be back to building sand castles in no time flat. When I've been alone with kids on the beach, this has saved me! It's unthinkable to take everyone home at a moment's notice, especially when the need to pee often arises nearly as soon as our feet have hit sand!
